Editorial Captions

Two type voices cut hard on every spoken word, one or two words at a time. Italic Instrument Serif for the claim, bold Inter for the instruction, and a cyan-gradient pop pair reserved for the payoff phrase. All frames below are generated by scripts/build-captions.mjs from examples/apple-skill.plan.txt over cleaned stills of the reference reel.

The modes

**serif · gap · light** — hook + claims. Instrument Serif Italic caps, 108px, black on the white page.

**serif · y=1400 · dark** — the tall doc card pushes the band to 73%. White on the black page.

**sans · gap · dark** — lists and instructions. Inter 700 sentence case, 78px.

**serif-lower · gap · light** — the warm chapter, lowercase italic.

**sans · gap · light** — the install steps.

**sans · chin · footage** — under the mouth on the close-up, white + shadow, 66px.

The pop (the only animation)

`using > this one` — italic lead word locked over the bold payoff; payoff words pop in one by one on their spoken onset.

`into a > single skill` — white→cyan gradient, drop shadow, dark blurred oval plate behind the pair.

`comment > "Apple" +` — the CTA keyword; `+` holds it to the end of the shot.

"CREATE": our serif lands on the reference within a few px.

Reference (source frames)

0-12s at 2fps: serif caps → pop → serif caps on black → pop → sans on black → pop.

12-24s: serif-lower → serif caps → sans → serif caps.

24-33s: serif caps → sans → sans chin → pop "Apple".

30fps strip of the "Apple" pop: ~5 frames, scale-up + fade (+ blur in the original).

"single" then "skill": payoff words pop separately; earlier ones stay.

Hard swap on every word start. No fades. 1-2 words per cue, function words ride on their content word.
Alternate serif ↔ sans per chapter. Serif = claims. Sans = instructions.
3-5 pops per 30s, on the phrase the viewer must remember or type. Never on a function word.
The caption never covers the face.
